Day 1:
Arrival at the airport in Istanbul and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight
in Istanbul.
Day 2:
Early morning flight to Ankara. In the city that is the heart of Turkey we visit
the Anitkabir Museum, a vast mausoleum built for Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish
Republic. Our next stop, the Anatolian Civilizations Museum, the finest collection
of Anatolian works and remains. Later we continue our tour as we travel south
to Cappadocia "the Land of Beautiful Horses". Stay overnight in Cappadocia.
Day
3: Guiding you through this amazing mystical landscape will be like
showing you around another planet. Here we will visit the ancient underground
cities of Kaymaklı, Güvercinlik and Devrent Valleys; the natural rock castle at
Uchisar; Avanos and Paşabağları and the beautiful open-air museums at Zelve and
Göreme, where the remains of churches and Christian settlements date back thousands
of years. A place where you simply let your mind wander and be amazed at this
beautiful region. Stay overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 4:
Transfer to Konya where we visit the Mevlana Museum and the tomb of Mevlana, the
founder of the mystical Whirling Dervishes, Karatay Medrese and the Ince Minare,
now a museum. Stay overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 5:
Discover the ancient tourist resort of Asia Minor, Hierapolis situated above the
snow-white terrace basins at Pamukkale. We also visit the ancient city of Aphrodisias,
supposedly named after Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Stay overnight in Kuşadası.
Day
6: On the Aegean Coast is situated one of the true wonders of Turkey,
the beautifully restored ancient city of Ephesus, with buildings dating back to
the tenth century.Here we also visit the holy site of the House of the Virgin
Mary and the Selçuk Museum. Stay overnight in Izmir.
Day 7:
We make a trip to Pergamum (Bergama), once the capital of the Hellenistic Kingdom
where it is possible to see the Acropolis and the superbly preserved Asklepeion
with its breath-taking views. Stay overnight in Çanakkale.
Day 8:
Our trip is completed with a visit to the war memorial in Çanakkale, a memory
to the thousands of Turkish and foreign soldiers who lost their lives here during
World War I. From here we return to Istanbul where we stay.
Day 9:
A tour is given in Istanbul visiting the world-famous Sultanahmet Mosque (also
known as the Blue Mosque); the home of the sultans - Topkapı Palace; the Underground
Cisterns; the superb Grand Bazaar and the impressive Hagia Sophia Museum. Stay
and overnight in Istanbul.
Day 10:
Morning half-day departure for Bosporus Cruise Tour from the hotel. Cruise on
the Bosporus, the winding strait that separates Europe from Asia. Enjoy the view
of the old wooden villas, marble palaces and the ancient fortress. Disembark on
the European side. Return to the hotel. Rest of day is free.
Day 11:
Transfer to airport.
