This
lovely smaller hotel is in a prime location in the Sultanahmet, close to all the
main attractions of the area. It is a unique hotel in that it is built above a
5th Century Byzantine Cistern that may be viewed by its guests today.
The
hotel has just 16 rooms, each with a private bathroom, air conditioning, satellite
TV and minibar facilities. The rooms are very spacious with lovely decor and comfortable,
elegant furnishings.
The
open buffet breakfast is served outdoors, taking in the morning sun and beautiful
surrounding sights. Evening meals can be taken in the downstairs restaurant which
has been decorated fantastically, in a style that combines old and new, past and
present, not unlike the city itself. The food here is also wonderful, a large
selection of Mediterranean dishes, chosn by the host, herself a cordon bleu graduate.
The
hotel has a fantastic atmosphere, and the staff provide excellent and professional
service at all times. They can even arrange activities such as cooking courses,
drawing excursions and walks through parts of the city that even your guide book
might not mention.
